Applied Psychologist

An amazing new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Applied Psychologist to work in an exceptional hospital setting based in County Durham. As an Applied Psychologist you will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers.

This hospital provides individualised treatment and care for people with mental health needs of adult working age and who present with complex and challenging behaviours, in a safe and supportive environment. The hospitals comprehensive integrated services offer complete care pathways allowing service users to transfer effortlessly between the most appropriate care, meeting individual needs enabling recovery and re-engagement within the community and maximising life opportunities

As an Applied Psychologist your day to day duties include:
• Identify and deliver evidence based assessments, formulations and treatment
• Contributing to the effective risk management and recovery of the patients
• Promoting and developing psychological services
• Working effectively and supportively within teams, inspiring and promoting effective change
• Working alongside patients detained under the Mental Health Act, who present with a range of complex needs, including mental illness, personality disorders, cognitive deficits, self harming behaviours and offending histories

An ideal Applied Psychologist must have these skills and experiences as they are beneficial for this position:
• Excellent clinical and communication skills
• Track record of successful working with colleagues from other professions within a psychiatric setting
• Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience working in secure or locked rehabilitation settings
• Experience of working within an acute or PiCU service will be advantageous but not essential

The successful Applied Psychologist will receive an excellent annual salary up to £45,000 per annum. This exciting position is a Full Time role working 37.5 hours a week. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
